Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) is a global, technical consulting firm working with leading private and public sector clients. Our Spatial group play an integral role in providing spatial services to projects throughout SKM, as well as directly to a wide variety of clients across South East Australia. We are now in a position to recruit an experienced Spatial consultant to our Melbourne team.

Your role will involve supporting both internal clients within SKM as well as those external to our business as you seek to provide leading technological solutions across the areas of spatial data management and spatial analysis. As one of the more experienced consultants within the group, your role will provide input and guidance, offering innovative approaches to software solutions, GIS analysis and mapping. Your role will also encompass providing advice and scoping solutions for projects across a range of industries including Natural Resource Management, Resources, Infrastructure, Utilities and Heavy Industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen your knowledge and skills in an environment that will provide you with challenge and variety.

You’ll need appropriate tertiary qualifications in Geomatics, Spatial Science or IT with a specialisation in spatial technology. It’s also essential that you have significant experience developing spatial technical solutions and working with spatial applications and databases. You’ll also need to be a strong communicator with a collaborative working style and an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Finally, you’ll need to be client focused, and motivated to keep abreast of cutting edge industry developments. Experience working with technologies such as the full ESRI suite of products, Oracle, SQL Server, VB and ArcObjects would be highly regarded.
