GIS Analyst

An exciting opportunity currently exists within the ZeroGen Project team for an experienced GIS Analyst. The role will be responsible for map and plan preparation for the ZeroGen Project.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
• Collect, integrate and analyse detailed geospatial datasets;
• Manipulate and maintain spatial and non-spatial data, to produce quality analyses, maps and related products;
• Implement a QA/QC program for spatial data to ensure traceability of maps and revisions;
• Provide input into field studies and background data acquisition to incorporate GIS capability;
• Provide information and advice to project members on issues of data quality, image analysis and manipulation, and visualisation of spatial data;
• Update the GIS guidelines document, and ensure adherence to these guidelines and standards;
• General administration of the GIS; and
• Perform required monitoring, logging and reporting tasks associated with routine operations of the GIS.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
• 2–3 years experience using two or more GIS packages;
• Demonstrated experience using MapInfo GIS software;
• High level skills in the use of 3D software;
• Capacity to plan, program and coordinate data collection;
• Understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database;
• Experience in producing training materials and plans;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Advanced IT technical skills.
