PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Provide and/or manage the provision by others, high level of spatial information systems support and administration to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) users in the Department and assist users in other Agencies as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide effective support and technical advice to GIS users in a networked environment, particularly on the more complex GIS operations such as spatial analysis and spatial data management.
2. Ensure data security and administration functions for the GIS infrastructure are carried out effectively.
3. As part of a team ensure effective day-to-day operations of GIS applications in use by the Department and client Agencies.
4. Provide expert assistance, technical and cartographic support in the use of a range of GIS products to a range of users and resolve technical and data management problems.
5. Provide expert advice to users and client Agencies on the compilation of digital maps and digital data products using spatial data sets.
6. Arrange and participate in presentations and awareness sessions on new spatial applications to users and managers as required.
Additional Information
Salary: from $62,094.00 AUD up to $65,328.00 AUD per year
