Cadet GIS Officer - Adelaide

Our Adelaide based Local Government client is seeking a Geospatial Cadet. The role will initially be on a part time basis for 12 months and would suit someone who is in the last year of tertiary qualification that is related to the geospatial industry.

The cadetship is part of a succession plan with the incumbent looking to retire in 2010/11 so once the cadetship has been successfully finished the candidate will be transitioned into a full-time role as a geospatial professional undertaking a broad range of geospatial task that include:

l Contribute to the maintenance of geospatial data
l Mapping and geospatial analysis
l Identifying, developing, and implementing geospatial solutions across the organisation
l Championing the adoption of geospatial technologies
l Configuring and integrating geospatial systems and data into other corporate systems

The ideal candidate will have a passion for geospatial technologies and, while not essential, will have some experience with Geographical Information Systems like Mapinfo and database technologies like MS SQL Server.
