We are currently seeking two Mid-Level GIS Consultants to join our Geospatial team based in the Brisbane office. Reporting to the Regional Team Manager, these positions require talented, self-motivated individuals who are committed to developing their career within a highly capable, multi-disciplinary GIS team.
The positions align with our Strategic objectives to expand our Queensland resource base and strengthen our capacity to deliver high quality, innovative GIS solutions to a wide range of infrastructure and environmental projects throughout the Australia-Pacific region. As such, these roles will provide an important contribution to our technical development and financial targets under the direction of the Geospatial Section Executive.
Locally, the successful applicants will work in close cooperation with the Regional Team Manager, the GIS team leader and other members of the Queensland Geospatial team. On a National level, the roles will develop collaborative working relationships with members of the larger Geospatial Section, the Capability Leadership Team (CLT) and business development professionals to form connections across all market areas within PB.
Use your skills & experience
This role would suit Mid-Level Geospatial professionals who are seeking opportunities to grow their career within the structure of an expanding global consultancy. Preferred applicants will ideally have:
• A Tertiary Degree in GIS, or in a related field of expertise
• Appropriate technical knowledge and experience relating to the application of GIS to market areas such as transport, energy, mining, industry, sustainable communities, environmental and water.
• Strong skills in using ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite and the Geodatabase model
• Additional skills in using MapInfo Professional, Open-Source, or other GIS software (highly regarded)
• Sound knowledge of geodetics, coordinate projections, transformations, spatial data formats, data processing, manipulation, analysis and cartography
• High attention to detail, quality and client delivery within expectations
• Ability to work autonomously and in a project team environment
• Skills in report writing, proposal development and excellent oral, written and visual communication skills and
• Knowledge of CAD, mobile GIS / GPS, FME, image processing, SQL, SDE and asset management (an advantage)
