GISjobs Australia MapInfo Contractor - Newcastle

Our Newcastle based client is seeking a skilled MapInfo specialist for a 5 month contract. This role will suit a qualified GIS professional with experience in government and planning.



Essential Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in land information and spatial information systems.
Conflict and interpersonal negotiation skills.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Proven technical aptitude in the use of mapping and GIS software applications.
Ability to analyse, sometimes conflicting information, make judgements and recommend solutions.
Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team performance targets.
Recognised tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Services or related field, e.g. Diploma Spatial Information Services (GIS) or equivalent practical experience.
Knowledge, experience and demonstrated competency in spatial and textural data entry, extraction, queries and analysis.
Effective customer service skills.


Highly Desirable

Maintain awareness of software currency and technical innovation as it relates to the position.
Experience in the maintenance of maps using Mapinfo and Professional.
Ability to interpret survey plans, data, provide advice and translate into information systems.
Analysis and integration skills associated with spatial and textural datasets to deliver business solutions.
Experience in administering and maintaining a Mapinfo Exponare implementation.

Additional Skills

Experience in the development of integrated solutions combining spatial and corporate relational datasets.
Experience and an understanding of Government property related systems.
Experience in managing small projects.
